Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) announces it has been recognized as a top performer in the 2023 Environmentally Preferred Sourcing Excellence Ranking by Vizient, Inc. TRMC was the top ranked performer out of 58 Vizient provider customers in the complex care medical centers cohort and is recognized for making a positive contribution to human and environmental health through responsible purchasing decisions.
“Being ranked as the top performer in Vizient’s 2023 Environmentally Preferred Sourcing Excellence is a testament to our commitment to responsible healthcare at TRMC and Southwell,” says Rusty Moorman, Director of Supply Chain Services for Southwell. “Our dedication to sustainable and safer purchasing decisions not only benefits our patients but also the environment. This achievement reflects our vision for a healthier, more sustainable future. Thanks to our entire TRMC family for their part in this recognition.”
Environmentally Preferred Sourcing Excellence is measured in solutions to reduce negative human and environmental health impacts through sustainable and safer purchasing decisions. Ranking is based on the purchase of products that meet Vizient’s Environmentally Preferred Purchasing Standard, which includes all Vizient-identified chemical attributes and at least two waste attributes, as a percentage of Vizient spend.
“The healthcare products purchased by hospitals matter beyond clinical outcomes and cost savings. They also impact the health of their staff, patients and the communities they serve,” said Simrit Sandhu, executive vice president, clinical supply solutions at Vizient. “We commend Tift Regional Medical Center for making smart, sustainable, safe and resilient purchasing choices.”
