Southwell Pain Management Physician Speaks on Local Opioid Panel with U.S. Rep. Austin Scott

Pain management specialist Dr. Sterling Haring with Tift Regional Medical Center’s Pain Management Center recently participated in a panel discussion with U.S. Rep. Austin Scott on the addiction epidemic in Georgia and the entire country.  This special conference, held at the Tift County Recreation Department on Dec. 2, was sponsored by the American Addiction Recovery Association (AARA), the Georgia Council for Recovery, and the OASIS Recovery Center.

Overdose and fentanyl poisoning have now become the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18-45, and over 46 million people in the U.S. are currently battling addiction. The goal of the forum was to have an open conversation about the addiction crisis and what leaders can do to help those struggling with this epidemic.  Thanks to Dr. Haring for participating in this important community event.
