TRMC Foundation donates $20,000 to Tiftarea YMCA

The Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) Foundation recently donated $20,000 to the Tiftarea YMCA.

The Tiftarea YMCA’s Food for Thought Program and after-school program will benefit by nourishing area children.  For more than 17 years, this program has been vital to the Tift community.  During the school year, the Bateman Center hosts a free after-school program Monday through Friday from 3:00-6:00 p.m.   This program includes a nutritious snack, kid-friendly activities, and daily computer and assignment skills practice with tutoring available.

Each week, more than 2,000 meals will be served at the summer feeding locations.  This program offers daycare for parents in our community at two additional locations.

“The TRMC Foundation and the Tiftarea YMCA are thrilled to collaborate on this endeavor.  The Foundation is a community sponsor, and efforts are used on medical equipment for local and surrounding county emergency medical services, as well as assistance within the community,” states Mandy Brooks, Director of the TRMC Foundation.
