Becker’s Hospital Review recently recognized Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) as one of 280 hospitals in the country with the lowest MRSA rates. TRMC was highlighted as having a methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection rate of zero, as based on the healthcare-associated infections dataset from CMS.
A low rate of MRSA is important because it reduces serious infections and complications caused by this antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Great job to our TRMC team for their commitment to following infection prevention protocols and meeting best practices.
