Southwell Laboratory Director Honored with The Patriot Award for Supporting Employee Serving in the Army Reserve

The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) honored Southwell’s Director of Laboratory Services John Ansley with The Patriot Award on March 25.  John was nominated by Medical Lab Tech Michael Slaughter, who is currently deployed overseas with the U.S. Army Reserve.

The Patriot Award recognizes a supervisor’s efforts to support citizen warriors through a wide range of measures, including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.

The ESGR, an office of the U.S. Department of War, was established in 1972 to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.

Congratulations to John for this recognition and thanks to Michael for his service to our country!
