Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) has received recognition from the American College of Cardiology for its participation in public reporting through two national cardiovascular registries.
The recognition was for publicly reporting data through the ACC’s CathPCI Registry and EP Device Implant Registry. By taking part in public reporting, the hospital shares information about its cardiovascular care and demonstrates its commitment to transparency, quality improvement and helping patients make informed decisions.
An EP (Electrophysiology) device implant is a surgical procedure to place a small battery-powered medical device in the chest, such as a pacemaker. CathPCI refers to the medical combination of Cardiac Catheterization (a diagnostic imaging procedure) and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (a minimally invasive treatment to open blocked arteries).
Through these registries, hospitals can track their performance, compare results with other participating hospitals and identify opportunities to improve care.
“These awards validate the TRMC Heart and Vascular Center’s commitment to transparency and continuous performance improvement,” said Christi Bryant, Southwell Director of Cardiovascular Services. “Thanks to all of our team members for their dedication to quality cardiovascular care.”
