TRMC Foundation Supports Community Health Through Recent Donations

The Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation recently invested $30,000 in the Tiftarea YMCA Pool Dome initiative and donated two LIFEPAK 35 cardiac monitors to Tift County EMS. Together, the contributions support the Foundation’s commitment to improving health, wellness and emergency care throughout the community.

The Pool Dome will allow the Tiftarea YMCA to operate its pool and provide swim instruction throughout the year. Currently, the YMCA’s Swim to Learn program teaches approximately 200 children to swim during the pool’s seasonal operation from April through September. Once the dome is completed, the program will be able to offer year-round swim instruction to second-grade students from Tift and surrounding counties.

The enclosed pool will also provide greater access to aquatic exercise for seniors and individuals recovering from surgery.

“Our community will greatly benefit from the Pool Dome,” said Mandy Brooks. “Many of our post-surgical patients require year-round access to a pool, and this will provide them with a safe and effective form of exercise.”

The Foundation’s donation of two LIFEPAK 35 monitors to Tift County EMS will help strengthen emergency cardiac care. While a patient is being transported to the hospital, the devices can perform a diagnostic EKG and transmit the results directly to a physician at Tift Regional Medical Center. This gives physicians and hospital personnel valuable time to prepare for a cardiac patient before the ambulance arrives.

Funding for the monitors was provided through proceeds from the Foundation’s 2026 Hearts and Diamonds Gala, which raised more than $133,000 for the Foundation’s Community Fund.

“The TRMC Foundation is proud to partner with the Tiftarea YMCA and Tift County EMS on projects that directly benefit the health and safety of our community,” Brooks said. “These investments reflect the generosity of our donors and the Foundation’s mission to support health care needs throughout Tift County and the surrounding region.”

In addition to supporting community projects, the TRMC Foundation provides funding for medical equipment used by emergency medical services agencies in Tift and surrounding counties and offers other forms of assistance throughout the community.
