Congratulations to Dontre’ Douse, MD for recently completing an advanced course in subspecialty cochlear implantation.
Dr. Douse is an otolaryngologist/head and neck surgeon with Southwell Ear, Nose and Throat and serves as Medical Director of Tift Regional Medical Center’s otolaryngology/head and neck surgery program.
Dr. Douse earned subspecialty certification in pediatric & adult Cochlear implantation through an advanced surgeons course at the Thomas Balkany Institute for Cochlear Implant Training.
Cochlear implant surgery is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia that inserts an electronic device into the inner ear to treat severe-to-profound sensorineural hearing loss. Dr. Douse performed the first cochlear implant surgery in Southwest Georgia at Tift Regional Medical Center this past fall.
