TRMC Nurses Recognized for “Stroke Wins” Through Code Stroke Launchpad Program

Ten nurses at Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) were recently recognized for achieving “Stroke Wins” as part of the hospital’s Code Stroke Launchpad program, an initiative focused on delivering faster, more efficient care for patients experiencing a stroke.

The Code Stroke Launchpad is a designated treatment area within the Emergency Department (ED) designed to streamline stroke response and improve patient outcomes. Key performance goals for the program include achieving a Door to Needle Time of less than 45 minutes and a Door in Door Out Transfer Time of less than 120 minutes.

“Our frontline staff is dedicated to accelerating care and enhancing outcomes in the ED,” said Brenda Stone, RN, Stroke Coordinator. “We would also like to recognize one of our nurses in Orthopedics for recognizing stroke symptoms in a patient and providing immediate intervention.”

The following nurses were recognized for their outstanding performance in meeting or exceeding program benchmarks during the quarter:

Emergency Department
Courtney Berger – January 6 (Door to Needle Time: 38 minutes)
Mackenzie Sellers – January 10 (Door to Needle Time: 38 minutes)
Jessica Tucker – January 17 (Door to Needle Time: 35 minutes)
Savannah Johnson – February 6 (Door in Door Out Transfer Time: 93 minutes)
Brooke Hinson – February 12 (Door to Needle Time: 36 minutes)
Lakyn Hunter – February 25 (Door to Needle Time: 43 minutes)
Caleb Ray – March 7 (Door to Needle Time: 42 minutes); March 17 (Door in Door Out Transfer Time: 109 minutes)

Shannon Prager – March 17 (Door to Needle Time: 41 minutes)

Orthopedics

Stroke is a time-sensitive medical emergency, and rapid treatment is critical to reducing long-term disability and improving survival rates. Through initiatives like Code Stroke Launchpad, TRMC continues to prioritize high-quality, timely care for patients across the region.
