Updated annual economic impact data released by the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) demonstrates that Southwell’s two hospitals have a combined $1.45 billion on the local economy. This includes Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) in Tifton and Southwell Medical in Adel.
“Every patient, employer and community member in the area benefits from the life-saving care and economic impact of TRMC and Southwell Medical,” said Caylee Noggle, GHA President/CEO. “Georgia’s hospitals are essential to our state’s health and prosperity, and TRMC and Southwell Medical are prime examples of that impact.”
GHA’s update is based on independent third-party modeling using 2024 data. According to the report, the TRMC economic impact is $1,086,090,183 and the Southwell Medical economic impact is $380,790,998.
Southwell’s economic reach extends beyond healthcare, sustaining jobs in a range of industries. GHA’s data shows that Southwell supports 7,154 total jobs across Georgia, including 5,806 jobs in Tift and Cook counties, and 2,714 full- and part-time employees at TRMC and Southwell Medical. Together, these direct and indirect jobs generate $506,282,707 in household earnings statewide.
